The Capital Region Transportation Council and Albany County will host a public workshop to gather community input on potential pedestrian facilities for Russell Road.
ALBANY, NY May 4, 2026 – The Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council), Albany County, and the City of Albany invite the public to attend an open-house style workshop for the Russell Road Sidewalk Study on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Eagle Point Elementary School (1044 Western Avenue). The event will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The workshop will explore the possibility of adding pedestrian infrastructure along Russell Road, such as sidewalks and curb ramps. The study area includes Russell Road from Western Avenue to Front Avenue. Community members are encouraged to stop by and share input that will help shape the recommendations for this study.
The Russell Road Sidewalk Study aims to enhance safety and mobility for pedestrians by addressing the lack of pedestrian infrastructure along the corridor. For additional information, contact Carrie Ward, Project Manager, at (518) 458-2161 or cward@capitalmpo.org.
