The Transportation Council’s Planning Committee will also act on several changes to federally funded transportation projects.
ALBANY, NY March 26, 2026 – The Planning Committee of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) will convene on April 1, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The meeting agenda includes a presentation by the New York State Department of Transportation on the results of the Route 378 Troy-Menands Bridge Planning and Environment Linkages Study being released for public review. This multi-year study assessed the engineering feasibility and environmental impacts associated with reconstructing the bridge at both its current location as well as alternative alignments. In addition, the need for a direct bicycle and pedestrian facility along Route 378 over the bridge was also assessed. Learn more about the study at www.dot.ny.gov/troymenandsbridge.
The Planning Committee will also act on three capital project amendments to the 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

- Combine two projects into one and cost increase of $2.708M
- Town of Glenville is project sponsor.

Action will also be taken to release the Draft Public Participation Plan and the Draft Air Quality Conformity Statement for public review. Discussion items include a local call for Roadway Departure Safety Action Plan projects, a summary of 2025-2030 TIP Administrative Modifications, a NYSDOT project delivery update, and the status of regional and local transportation planning studies.
