Transportation Council to Discuss Watervliet 25th Street Corridor Reconstruction Project

The Planning Committee will also act on several NYSDOT transportation project amendments.

ALBANY, NY June 26, 2026The Planning Committee of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) will convene on July 1, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The meeting agenda includes action on multiple changes to existing capital projects in the 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for projects sponsored by the City of Watervliet and NYSDOT. The proposed project changes include the following:

  • A622: NY 396 over Coeymans Creek Bridge
    • Total project cost = $4.610 M
    • Proposed $2.319 M cost increase due to the need for additional temporary easements, inflation adjustments, and resiliency requirements.
    • Sponsor: NYSDOT
    • Location: Town of Bethlehem
  • SA341: NY 32 Over Fish Creek Bridge
    • Total project cost = $4.775 M
    • Proposed $2.155 M cost increase due to inflation, resiliency requirements for bridge over water projects, and additional highway reconstruction.
    • Sponsor: NYSDOT
    • Location: Town of Saratoga
  • A620: Route 145 Albany County Slope Repair and Paving Section
    • Total project cost = $6.750 M
    • Proposed $2.775 M cost increase due to a revised engineer’s estimate and the replacement of seven small culverts and some headwall repairs for other small culverts.
    • Sponsor: NYSDOT
    • Location: Town of Rensselaerville

Action will also be taken to adopt an updated Limited English Proficiency Plan and approve budget adjustments on federal grants to close out the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The Planning Committee will also discuss options for the use of $2.0 M in federal funds for safety projects to support the implementation of the Capital Region Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, TIP project administrative modifications, and the status of regional transportation planning initiatives.
