Transportation Council to Discuss Status of Regional Transportation Planning Studies

The Transportation Council’s Planning Committee will also act on two new safety projects.

ALBANY, NY March 28, 2025 – The Planning Committee of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) will convene on April 2, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Transportation Council staff will present recommendations from recently completed Linkage Program studies in Rotterdam and Milton and soon to be completed studies in Castleton-on-Hudson and Voorheesville. A second presentation will share the draft Capital Region Vision Zero Safety Action Plan strategies to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on Capital Region roadways. Additional discussion topics include the NYSDOT Roadway Departure Safety Action Plan Call for Local Projects and the status of regional transportation planning projects.

The Planning Committee will also act on two 2022-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) amendments for projects sponsored by NYSDOT and the Town of Bethlehem. The TIP amendments are as follows:

  • A635, Bethlehem Priority Corridors Sidewalk Replacement and Installation, Town of Bethlehem – $6.594 M. This amendment combines two sidewalk projects into one.
  • (New NYSDOT project), Rehabilitation of Two Northway Bridges, BINS 1073500 & 1073522, City of Albany – $3.000 M. This project is a drawdown on a NYSDOT Block Funded project, RG134 for Miscellaneous Bridge Preservation Multi-Site Projects.
