The Capital Region Transportation Council and the City of Saratoga Springs will host a public workshop to gather community input on safety and transportation options in the corridor.
ALBANY, NY July 23, 2026 – The Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) and the City of Saratoga Springs invite the public to attend a public workshop for the West Avenue Complete Streets Study on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at SUNY Empire State University (113 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs). The event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a short presentation at 5:00 pm, followed by an informal drop-in session. All are welcome!
The Study Area is located to the west of the city center of Saratoga Springs and is bounded by Church Street, Kirby Road, Washington Street, and West Avenue. Key study area destinations include Saratoga Hospital and the Saratoga Springs Train and Bus station, serving Amtrak trains and CDTA, Greyhound, and Trailways buses. Residential and commercial growth in the study area is anticipated, currently containing a mix of land uses, including a residential cluster in the west and commercial buildings along West Ave.
The workshop is the public’s first formal opportunity to help shape the future of the West Avenue corridor and adjacent areas. The goal of the Study is to provide strategic guidance for future transportation improvement projects, evaluate land-use considerations, and ensure increased safety, accessibility, and connectivity for a variety of modes of transportation in Saratoga Springs.
