Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP)

What is the UPWP?

The UPWP identifies transportation planning activities to be undertaken in the Capital Region to further develop the policies and recommendations of the regional transportation plan, In Motion: The Plan to 2050. The UPWP includes a description of each planning activity, identifies who will be performing the work, and outlines anticipated products, timeframes and project budgets. UPWP funding is through a variety of federal, state, and local sources.

The Draft 2026-2027 UPWP is Available for Public Review

Documents

The 2026-2027 UPWP covers the period from April 1, 2026 to March 31. 2027. Questions and comments on the Draft UPWP are due by March 3, 2026.

  • Attend a Virtual Workshop on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 12pm. Workshop recording now available!
  • Visit us during our Open House on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 4pm – 6pm at our office at 1 Park Place, Suite 101, Albany, NY 12205 to ask questions, raise concerns, or make suggestions. Pre-registration is not required.
