Timeline (as of December 15, 2025)
- December 5, 2025: Applications for municipal planning initiatives due at 5 p.m.
- December 2025/January 2026: Transportation Council staff evaluates and prioritizes projects/studies
- February 4, 2026: Planning Committee approves funding recommendations and releases Draft 2026-2027 UPWP for public review.
- March 5, 2026: Transportation Council Policy Board adopts Final 2026-2027 UPWP
2025-2026 UPWP
The UPWP identifies transportation planning activities to be undertaken in the Capital Region to further develop the policies and recommendations of the regional transportation plan, New Visions 2050. The UPWP includes a description of each planning activity, identifies who will be performing the work, and describes the anticipated products. The time frames for completing each planning activity are also identified along with costs and fund sources, particularly federal transportation planning funds through the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration.
2024-2025 UPWP
The 2024-2025 UPWP was adopted on March 7, 2024, amended in June 2024, and covers the state fiscal year beginning April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2025.
