Transportation Council Opens Public Review on its 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program

$211M in federal transportation funds have been assigned to new site specific transportation projects in the Capital Region.

ALBANY, NY March 10, 2025 – The Policy Board of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) has released its Draft 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for public review. The TIP is the Transportation Council’s 5-year capital program of federally funded transportation projects for the Capital Region. Over $1.6 billion in pavement, bridge, transit, safety, bicycle/pedestrian, and other projects are included in the TIP with the largest being the $690M replacement of the Livingston Avenue Bridge. The Transportation Council is recommending over $211M in funding for 29 new site specific projects. Visit the 2025-2030 TIP website to learn more.

Federal funds in the TIP originate from highway and bridge programs administered by the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Selected projects reflect the recommendations, goals, and priorities in the Transportation Council’s long-range regional transportation plan known as New Visions 2050. The TIP is updated every three years and its projects are incorporated into the Statewide TIP (STIP). The TIP will begin on October 1, 2025 and will run through September 30, 2030.

The public is invited to attend public meetings and submit comments on the Draft TIP through April 21, 2025. Public meetings include:
