ALBANY, NY August 30, 2024 – The Policy Board of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) will convene on September 5, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. to hear a presentation by staff from the Port of Albany on current conditions and future Port plans. Action items include review and approval of twelve 2022-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) amendments as follows:
- A631, 1SRP01, Livingston Avenue Amtrak Railroad over the Hudson River Bridge Replacement in the Cities of Albany and Rensselaer – $90.000M change in fund source from state to federal funds.
- A607, 1085.46, Rt 146 over Normanskill, Bridge Replacement, BIN 1038310, NYSDOT, Town of Guilderland, Albany County – cost increase to $9.245 M
- SA340, 1722.75, River View Road over I-87, Bridge Replacement, BIN 1033190, NYSDOT, Town of Halfmoon, Saratoga County – cost increase to $11.150 M
- NEW PROJECT, A632, 1762.92, New Karner Rd. and Washington Ave. Roundabout, City of Albany, Albany County – $7.250 M
- NEW PROJECT, RG143, RG143X, Block of Funds for NYSDOT Curve Warning Sign Upgrades Multi-Site Program, Multi-County – $7.521 M
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.19, Malta Pedals (Pedestrian Downtown Access Linkage System) in the Town of Malta, Saratoga County – $2.034M (total cost)
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.20, Rt 335 Elsmere Ave. Sidewalk Replacement and Extension in the Town of Bethlehem, Albany County – $1.168M (total cost)
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.21, Sitterly Road Intersection Enhancement and Sidewalk Connectivity Project in the Town of Clifton Park, Saratoga County – $4.313M (total cost)
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.22, US 4 Sidewalk Continuity Project in the Town of North Greenbush, Rensselaer County- $1.491M (total cost)
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.23, Bethlehem Priority Corridors Sidewalk Replacement and Installation, Town of Bethlehem, Albany County – $5.426M (total cost)
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.24, Rt 50 Doubleday Ave. at Northline Road Intersection Improvement in the Town of Milton, Saratoga County – $6.110M (total cost)
- NEW PROJECT, 1763.25, Maple Ave. and Bozenkill Rd. Sidewalk Installation and Safety Enhancements, Village of Altamont, Albany County – $1.852M (total cost)
Additional action items include review and approval of the 2025-2030 TIP Solicitation Guidance, the In Motion plan Draft Vision Statement for public review, the National Highway Freight Program and Critical Urban Freight Corridor designations, and the Transportation Council’s Title VI Assurances revisions. Action items will be followed by discussion on the status of state, regional, and local transportation planning initiatives.
