ALBANY, NY July 2, 2024 – The Planning Committee of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) will convene on July 10, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. to hear a presentation by Creighton Manning, the lead study consultant, on the Town of Brunswick Hoosick Road Corridor Study. The study identifies several context sensitive transportation improvements to improve traffic operations, increase capacity, and improve local connectivity, without negatively impacting residents and property owners in the study area. Planning Committee action is expected on five amendments to the 2022-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), including two new safety projects, as follows:
· (New Project) RG143, RG143X, Block of Funds for NYSDOT Curve Warning Sign Upgrades Multi-Site Program, Multi-County – $7.521 M · A607, 1085.46, Rt 146 over Normanskill, Bridge Replacement, BIN 1038310, NYSDOT, Town of Guilderland, Albany County – $9.245 M · SA340, 1722.75, River View Road over I-87, Bridge Replacement, BIN 1033190, NYSDOT, Town of Halfmoon, Saratoga County – $11.150 M · (New Project) A632, 1762.92, New Karner Rd. and Washington Ave. Roundabout, City of Albany, Albany County – $7.250 M · Amendment 5: SA343, 1762.41, Dimmick Rd over Snook Kill, Bridge Replacement, BIN 3304510, Town of Wilton, Saratoga County – $1.897 M The plan will outline a path for how the region will achieve New York State’s ambitious climate goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation as well as increase safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all, while also improving the condition of our region’s roads and bridges.
