Transportation Council to Approve Draft Capital Program for Public Review

The Transportation Council’s Policy Board will meet to review and approve the draft 2025-2030 Transportation Improvement Program for public review and adopt the 2025-2026 Unified Planning Work Program

ALBANY, NY February 28, 2025

The Policy Board of the Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) will convene on March 6, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. The agenda includes approval of safety and pavement condition performance targets, approval of the Transportation Council’s 2025-2026 Unified Planning Work Program, approval of numerous Major 2022-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) amendments, and approval of the draft 2025-2030 TIP to release for public review.

Major TIP project amendments include:

  1. A611 – Central Avenue/Frisbie Avenue Project Split (split project into two)
  2. R315 – US Route 9 Bridge over I-90 (Exit 11), Bridge Replacement (cost increase over $3M)
  3. S281 – Bridge Replacement, Rt 146 over I-890 (cost increase over $3M)
  4. S280 – Bridge Replacement, Rt 146 over Chrisler Avenue (cost increase over
    $3M)
  5. SA338 – Bridge Replacement and Interchange Improvements, I-87 Exit 16 (cost increase over $3M)
  6. S263 – Sunnyside Road over Amtrak, Bridge Replacement (cost increase over $3M)
  7. S267 – NY Route 5S Pedestrian/Bicycle Access Imps from NY 103/Bridge St to Parkis and Iroquois (change from a non-federal fund source to a federal fund source)

Additional agenda items include election of Transportation Council Policy Board officers for 2025, delegation of Policy Board authority to the Planning Committee to release the Transportation Council’s Air Quality Conformity document for public review, and discussion on the status of the In Motion regional transportation plan.
